Rumors of Rocksteady working on a Superman game have been circulating for some time, but a recent tweet has added more fuel to the fire. However, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has debunked these rumors, stating that there is “zero truth” to the claims.
The rumors began in April 2020 when user James Sigfield claimed that Rocksteady had pitched a Superman game as a follow-up to their successful Batman: Arkham trilogy. According to Sigfield, the proposal was rejected by Warner Bros. This was further supported by Easter eggs in Arkham Knight that hinted at a future Superman game.
Despite these rumors persisting over the years, there has never been any concrete evidence to support Rocksteady’s supposed Superman plans. The recent viral tweet claiming that players would explore the ruins of a canceled Superman title was quickly shut down by Schreier.
While Rocksteady may not be working on a standalone Superman game, fans of the Man of Steel can still look forward to his appearance in Rocksteady’s upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In this game, players will take on the task of defeating Superman and other Justice League members who have been controlled by Brainiac.
