Players in North America are facing frustration and surprise as Amazon cancels preorders for the highly sought-after Lost Caverns of Ixalan Veloci-Ramp-Tor Commander Precon decks. The delay in product availability and high demand have caused prices to skyrocket on the secondary market, leaving players scrambling to find affordable options.
According to WotC, there were already known delays for the Lost Caverns of Ixalan products, with collector boosters expected to arrive in stores up to three weeks after the prerelease events on November 10th. However, the Commander decks were initially slated to arrive on time but have now faced delays as well.
Out of the four preconstructed decks, the Veloci-Ramp-Tor Commander Precon is the most popular and in-demand. It contains many of the new Dinosaur cards from Lost Caverns of Ixalan, which have made an impact not only in the Eternal format but also in the competitive Standard meta. Cards like Apex Altisaur, Xenagos, God of Revels, Chandra’s Ignition, and Akroma’s Will are highly sought-after by players.
Players who had preordered the Veloci-Ramp-Tor deck on Amazon have been facing cancellations since October 27th, when the price was around $35. Some lucky individuals have received their preorders, while others have experienced delays. This uncertainty has caused the price of the deck to double on sites like TCGPlayer, reaching around $85.
For those unwilling to pay inflated prices, the only option is to wait patiently for a restock. Once the product becomes available again, it is expected that the prices will drop to around $45.
At the time of writing, it is unclear when players can expect another wave of Veloci-Ramp-Tor Commander Precon decks from the Lost Caverns of Ixalan set. Dot Esports has reached out to WotC for comment.
