Seer Plummets to Lowest Pick Rate Ever, Forgotten by Apex Legends Community

superadmin

Seer, once a popular character in Apex Legends, has now reached his lowest point ever, with both casual and competitive players sidelining and forgetting about him. According to Apex Legends Status, Seer’s global pick rate has dropped to just one percent, tying for last place among all playable legends. This marks a significant decline from his previous top-five ranking since his introduction in season 10.

Seer initially gained popularity due to his unique Recon abilities, allowing him to instantly scan for enemies without cooldown, unlike other legends like Bloodhound. His tactical ability provided valuable information and utility during fights, damaging, silencing, slowing, blinding, and canceling enemy healing or reviving actions while revealing their armor and health to the entire team.

However, Respawn Entertainment responded to Seer’s dominance by implementing a series of nerfs across multiple seasons. These changes gradually stripped away essential features of his kit. For instance, a mid-season 10 patch removed the damage and blinding effect from his tactical ability, while season 15 made Seer’s passive audible to enemies, eliminating his ability to ambush foes.

The most significant nerfs came in the Season 17 Dressed to Kill update, affecting all three parts of Seer’s kit. His Heartbeat Sensor received an additional delay and reduced range, Focus of Attention lost the ability to cancel enemy healing or reviving actions, and Exhibit had reduced throw distance and no longer displayed diamond body markers for enemies in the ultimate.

These nerfs not only disrupted various ability combos but also diminished Seer’s value as a Recon legend. In the competitive scene, Seer was initially highly regarded and maintained a 60% pick rate in both Split One and Split Two Playoffs. However, as the Pro League progressed, teams gradually replaced Seer with more aggressive legends like Horizon and Bloodhound, who could gather and capitalize on information more quickly.

The 2023 ALGS Championship witnessed the least amount of Seer play ever in a LAN environment. He was not picked until day three of the competition and was completely overlooked by all 40 international teams during the Group Stage. By the end of the tournament, Seer had only been chosen seven times, accounting for less than one percent of the Championship’s legend pick rate. In contrast, Mad Maggie and Wraith, who were previously unpicked throughout the entire ALGS year, made their debut in the Group Stage and received more picks than Seer.

Seer’s current status in the game is that of the most unpopular legend, having lost his identity as an offensive scan character who enabled his team to identify weak targets in fights. This role has now been taken over by Revenant Reborn. Seer mains will have to wait for the next season’s patch notes to see if Respawn Entertainment will reconsider any of the numerous nerfs to his kit.
