Get ready for a game-changing upgrade for Serperior in the upcoming Scarlet and Violet DLC. The Gen V Grass Starter will finally have the chance to shine, thanks to the new Terastallization mechanic introduced in Gen IX.
In previous generations, Serperior struggled with its limited move pool, often resorting to the weak Hidden Power Fire just to have type coverage against certain Pokémon. But with Terastallization, Serperior will now have access to stronger offensive options that can make a huge difference in battles.
By acquiring the Fire Tera Type, Serperior can unleash the devastating Tera Blast, a much more powerful Fire attack compared to Hidden Power. In fact, it can deal twice as much damage, potentially securing one-hit knockouts that were previously out of reach.
Terastallization also benefits Serperior defensively. With its famous Contrary + Leaf Storm combo, Serperior aims to stay on the field as long as possible, increasing its Special Attack with each turn. By utilizing its Tera Type defensively, such as transforming into a Fire type to resist Ice attacks, Serperior can buy more time to set up while taking minimal damage. Once fully prepared with boosted Special Attack, Serperior becomes a formidable force.
While we don’t know if Serperior will gain access to any other new moves in Gen IX, this buff alone will significantly enhance its competitive viability. Prepare to witness Serperior’s true potential in battle!
