The Haunting limited-time event in Modern Warfare 2 has concluded, but not without a final scare for gamers. Server hiccups and a bug caused many players to be unable to redeem the souls they collected during the Soul Capture limited-time event. Activision has acknowledged the issue and will be re-enabling the ability to redeem souls in an update later today.
Throughout the event, souls were dropped by enemy players in MW2 multiplayer and found in Warzone. These souls could be saved up and used to purchase limited-time items such as weapon blueprints, XP tokens, and the coveted animated Ghoulie weapon camo. Unfortunately, during the last hour of the event, players encountered difficulties in turning in their souls for rewards.
To rectify the situation, CoD gamers will have a window of just under two days to redeem their collected souls. However, they will not be able to earn any more souls during this time. The event featured thrilling battles with creatures like Diablo’s Butcher, alien UFOs, and swamp creatures.
Players will be able to redeem their collected souls until Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 11am CT. This extension aims to allow as many players as possible to receive their rewards before the focus shifts to the launch of Modern Warfare 3 on Friday, Nov. 10.
