Twitter user ‘RickDaSquirrel’ has exposed the shocking truth about the highly anticipated game, Skull Island: Rise of Kong, just one night before its release on October 17. In a viral tweet, Rick shared snippets of the game and warned fellow gamers against purchasing it, going as far as calling it a “complete scam.”
The tweet includes a 15-second clip that encapsulates the game’s numerous issues. The visuals are concerning, with textures constantly popping in and out, and a static image of a roaring monster that fails to fill the entire frame. Even the closeup of Kong’s face and his leap to smash the ground struggle with frame rate problems.
Rick further shared additional clips of his gameplay experience, admitting that he takes back any negative comments he made about Godzilla PS4. One clip showcases crab enemies with barely recognizable animations, followed by clunky combat, more frame rate problems, and an underwhelming finish.
While some gamers find amusement in mocking the game, this incident has sparked an important conversation about the working conditions of game developers. Comerade_Waluigi argues that the poor quality of this game is a result of the expectation for developers to create shorter games with inferior graphics. This debate highlights the issue of overworked developers who are frequently pressured to produce low-quality games.
It is worth noting that Dot Esports has reached out to the game’s developer, IguanaBee, for comment on these criticisms.
