Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has had a smooth launch, but the Prestige system has faced criticism. Sledgehammer Games addressed this issue on a livestream, stating that players will have to wait until season one to rank up beyond level 55 in multiplayer. The unpopular seasonal prestige progression system will continue, allowing players to level up through several Prestiges before reaching the new max rank in season two. Sledgehammer Games acknowledged fan dissatisfaction with this system, but it will remain in place.
Despite the Prestige system being a point of contention, it is a testament to the smoothness of Modern Warfare 3’s launch that this is one of the biggest complaints.
In addition to discussing the Prestige system, the developers also mentioned upcoming content such as the Meat map, the snaking mechanic, a stamina bar in the HUD, and the potential return of bunny hopping later in the year. The exact release date for MW3 season one is yet to be announced, but it is expected to arrive in early December.
