Diablo 4 players are cautiously optimistic about the future of Sorcerers in the game, as the class is set to receive significant changes in Patch 1.2.0. These changes, scheduled to roll out on Oct. 17, come just in time for the second season, Season of Blood.
After the initial launch, many classes in Diablo 4, including Sorcerers, experienced a decline in power due to Blizzard’s decision to weaken every class. This move led to a loss of interest from players. However, Sorcerers can now rejoice as the upcoming patch brings extensive buffs to the class.
The most notable changes include a 400 percent increase in Hydra’s damage and a reduction in the casting time of Incinerate. These buffs greatly benefit players who prefer a Summoner Sorcerer playstyle or those who focus on pure pyromancy. The changes are highly praised by Diablo 4 players, with many believing that they will make leveling Sorcerers much easier. Some players who had previously quit the game due to the initial nerfs are even returning.
However, there are still concerns about the effectiveness of these buffs in later stages of the game, such as Nightmare Dungeons and World Bosses. Endgame content requires high damage output, and while fire Sorcerers excel at clearing mobs with damage over time abilities, they may struggle against bosses.
In the Diablo 4 beta, the Hydra Fire Sorcerer build was popular among players due to its strong damage and effective damage over time ticks. While it wasn’t overpowered, it remained a solid choice throughout the game. The impact of the Patch 1.2.0 changes on the viability of pyromancer and summoner Sorcerers in the late game is yet to be determined, but it is a step in the right direction.
