One Starfield player has taken it upon themselves to revamp the game’s inventory menu, addressing one of the most criticized aspects of the popular space RPG. The original menu system was deemed tedious and time-consuming, hindering gameplay for many players. However, this modder’s redesign offers a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
The weapons tab in the inventory menu was particularly problematic. Players had to click on each individual weapon or hover over them to see the ammo they required. With over 20 different types of ammo in the game, this process significantly slowed down gameplay. It often led to equipping a weapon only to realize there was no suitable ammo, forcing players to return to the menu and select another option.
To combat this issue, the StarUI Starfield mod was created. This mod reorganizes the inventory screen, providing all item stats at a glance. Unlike the original menu, where players had to hover over each item to view its mass and value, the mod displays this information visibly on the screen. Additionally, the mod shows the required ammo and DPS for each gun in the weapons tab simultaneously, making weapon selection much easier during intense combat situations.
