Starfield, the highly anticipated game from Bethesda, may not be intentionally evil, but it certainly has its fair share of scary moments that are leaving players and their loved ones terrified. From eerie character voices to audio glitches, dark spans of space, and horrifying terramorphs, Starfield is not for the faint of heart.
One player shared on Reddit how a perfectly timed voice in a cutscene scared their partner when they walked into the room. This unexpected fright sparked a discussion among players about other terrifying moments in the game. Some of these moments are intentionally designed by Bethesda, such as the grotesque and nightmare-inducing terramorphs. Others occur when players find themselves alone in the darkest corners of space, with only their thoughts and something unsettling floating by.
There have also been instances where players have encountered derelict ships and heard a creepy woman’s voice over the radio, causing a major “nope” moment for many. Accidental jump scares have occurred when characters suddenly appear out of nowhere, causing players to accidentally fire off rounds in surprise. Additionally, audio glitches with static and high-pitched noises have made seemingly ordinary moments much more terrifying.
While Starfield may not be filled with outright evil, these scary moments, intentional or otherwise, have certainly added a frightening element to the game. If you have a fear of the dark or B-rated horror movies, you might want to think twice before embarking on this space adventure. Unless, of course, you keep the lights on.
