Starfield Support Patch Disappoints Players

Xavier Ward

Bethesda’s highly anticipated game, Starfield, is receiving a new support patch next week to address performance and gameplay issues. However, many players are already unimpressed as these solutions were already provided by modders shortly after the game’s release.

Starfield, which had been in development for almost a decade, failed to meet players’ expectations upon its arrival. From the very beginning, players encountered problems such as low FPS, visual stuttering, crashes, and freezing.

To tackle these issues, the developers of Starfield are releasing a Steam patch that includes Nvidia DLSS support, frame generation, display and HDR controls for supported systems, as well as general improvements and optimizations.

Unfortunately, it took the developers two months to address these performance and gameplay issues, while modders were able to provide fixes within days of the game’s launch. Many players find this unacceptable, as without these free performance mods, they would have likely stopped playing Starfield within the first week.

Xbox players, in particular, have been heavily affected by consistent game crashes, low FPS, and other gameplay issues. They are eagerly awaiting this update, as they are unable to install mods on their consoles.

On the other hand, some Starfield players have chosen to wait for official Bethesda fixes, and this upcoming patch will finally allow them to play the game without glitches for the first time.

Bethesda has not provided a specific release date for the patch on Steam’s beta. However, they have mentioned that if the beta goes well, they will make the patch available to all PC players and Xbox users as soon as possible, giving a glimmer of hope for Starfield’s future.

Two months Developers took to fix performance and gameplay issues
Days after release Modders provided fixes for performance and gameplay issues
Ongoing Xbox players experiencing crashes, low FPS, and gameplay issues
Future Patch to be made available to all PC players and Xbox users
