Stasis, the original Darkness subclass in Destiny 2, is set to receive a significant boost in the upcoming Season of the Wish. Bungie, the game’s developer, acknowledges that Stasis has been overshadowed by the new Lightfall’s Strand subclass and aims to bring it back into the spotlight with a series of buffs and tweaks.
In an effort to improve Stasis’s reliability in combat, Bungie plans to remove some of the previous nerfs that were implemented when Stasis was dominant. Additionally, there will be updates to grenades, Fragments, and other components of the subclass to make buildcrafting more valuable and to enhance underperforming options.
Here are some of the changes players can expect to see:
Fragments:
– Whisper of Hedrons: The -10 Strength penalty has been removed.
– Whisper of Impetus: It now provides +10 to Resilience.
– Whisper of Shards: The +10 Resilience bonus has been removed.
– Whisper of Hunger: The penalty has changed from -10 Intellect and -10 Mobility to -20 Strength.
– Whisper of Bonds: The -10 Discipline penalty has been removed.
These changes aim to make different Fragments more appealing and provide additional benefits to players. Bungie also plans to introduce further tuning changes and reworks to existing Stasis Fragments in future releases.
Hunters:
– Withering Blade (Stasis Melee): Projectile speed and lifetime have been increased by 10 percent. The maximum bounce count has been increased from two to three, and tracking consistency has been improved.
– Winter’s Shroud (Stasis Aspect): The slow stacks and duration applied to PvE enemies have been increased, along with the slow detonation size.
Titans:
– Shiver Strike (Stasis Melee): Players are now slowed on hit, and it functions with the Melee Kickstart armor mod.
– Howl of the Storm (Stasis Aspect): An issue preventing consistent freezing of targets has been fixed.
– Glacial Quake (Stasis Super): Nearby players are now frozen when Glacial Quake is cast, and the on-cast freeze impulse size against players has been reduced.
These changes aim to improve the reliability and safety of the Titan’s abilities, particularly Glacial Quake, which had lost its crowd control capabilities.
Warlocks:
– Frostpulse (Stasis Aspect): The consistency of freeze detonation against fast-moving targets has been significantly increased, and the freeze detonation size in PvE has been increased.
– Penumbral Blast (Stasis Melee): The detonation size when hitting the environment has been increased.
These changes focus on improving the reliability of the Warlock’s abilities, addressing areas where they may have previously fallen short.
Grenades:
– Glacier Grenade: The base cooldown has been reduced, benefiting the Warlock Stasis Aspect Bleak Watcher.
– Coldsnap Grenade: The arming shape size has been increased, and the seeker’s tracking strength now ramps down gradually.
These changes to Stasis grenades will provide more options and enhance gameplay for all classes.
In addition to these changes, Bungie plans to introduce Stasis-specific mods in the Season of the Wish Artifact, with further upgrades and reworks to come in future updates. The upcoming season promises to be a great one for Stasis mains, with the subclass receiving much-needed improvements.
The Stasis buffs will be implemented when Season of the Wish launches on November 28th in Destiny 2.
