Strafing bots in VALORANT’s Practice Range have suddenly become incredibly agile, posing a challenge for players trying to hit their targets. This unexpected increase in movement has caught many players off guard and made it difficult to land shots.
A Reddit post from Oct. 5 highlighted the frustration of one player, u/iAmSyther, who shared a slow-motion clip demonstrating the difficulty of hitting a strafing bot in the Practice Range. Despite having their crosshair on the bot’s head, the shots consistently missed, leading to questions about bullet registration inconsistency.
While the post initially focused on the registering issue, other players were surprised by the bot’s enhanced mobility. Some players, who had been playing VALORANT for over a year, expressed their astonishment at seeing such movement for the first time. It appears that Riot Games updated the Practice Range bots to move more, but failed to mention this change in the patch notes.
Although the increased movement is beneficial for practice, players are struggling to hit the bots. Some speculate that there may be latency issues with the bot’s animation, causing a discrepancy between what players see and what is actually happening. Others suggest that system variables, such as latency and ping, combined with VALORANT’s 128-tick servers, could be contributing to the problem.
Following the release of Patch 7.07 on Oct. 3, numerous reports surfaced about players struggling to consistently eliminate bots in the Practice Range. It is possible that the update inadvertently introduced some issues on the server side, and Riot Games should address these concerns to prevent players from doubting their skills.
VALORANT’s ranked mode is already known for its challenging aim gameplay, and the addition of frustrating Practice Range bots only adds to the frustration. It is crucial for Riot Games to address these issues promptly to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for players.
