Team BDS, after a disappointing performance at the 2023 World Championship, is rumored to be making significant changes to its League of Legends roster. One surprising move is the reported departure of veteran AD carry Juš “Crownie” Marušič. This news comes as a shock, especially considering Crownie recently signed a long-term contract extension with the team.
Throughout the past season, BDS struggled to establish themselves as a top team in the region, except for their strong showing in the 2023 LEC Spring Split, where they fell short in the grand finals against MAD Lions. In the subsequent Summer Split, they faced consistency issues on the Summoner’s Rift but managed to secure a spot at Worlds through the Worlds Qualifying Series against Golden Guardians.
Hopes were high for BDS at Worlds, with four representatives from the LEC. However, the region as a whole struggled, and BDS was unable to make an impact. They ended the tournament without a single win, suffering defeats against JD Gaming, MAD Lions, and Dplus KIA.
As for Crownie, he now finds himself in search of a new team for the upcoming year. The experienced AD carry has been a part of various teams over the past five years, including SK Gaming, Team Vitality, and even collaborated with Gen.G as a content creator. In response to the reports, Crownie shared a cryptic social media post featuring a GIF of Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, seemingly acknowledging the situation.
