The Ritualist, the first new Archetype in Remnant 2, is all about status effects, debuffs, and damage over time. With abilities that apply status effects and spread them between enemies, the Ritualist is perfect for players who enjoy Warlocks and Necromancers.
On November 14, 2023, the Awakened King DLC will introduce the Ritualist to Remnant 2. In a gameplay trailer released by Gunfire Games, the developer of Remnant 2, the Ritualist showcases its dark magic abilities, making it one of the most exciting Archetypes in the game.
The Ritualist wears a pointed witch hat and a black tunic reminiscent of Bloodborne. Their Prime Perk, Vile, increases their Status Effect damage by 15 percent. Additionally, upon death, the Ritualist spreads the enemy’s status effects to nearby enemies within 15 meters. This Perk opens up possibilities for unique builds and combos with the various weapons and items in Remnant 2 that apply statuses and synergize with them.
The Ritualist’s first ability, Eruption, deals extra damage to enemies with statuses and detonates nearby foes. It pairs well with the second ability, Miasma, which instantly applies Bleeding, Burning, Overload, and Corrode to enemies, ensuring a constant supply of afflicted foes.
The third ability, Death Wish, grants massively increased damage and Lifesteal but continually drains the user’s health. If these bonuses apply to status damage, the Ritualist’s ultimate ability could be devastating and tie the whole package together.
The Ritualist joins the existing 11 playable Archetypes in Remnant 2, bringing the total to 12. While the exact method of unlocking the Ritualist is still unknown, players will likely need to find an item called the Ragged Poppet, which will be hidden within The Awakened King DLC.
