The release of the phase four patch in World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic has brought with it the Random Dungeon Finder and Titan Rune Gamma dungeons. Unfortunately, this has also led to a rise in toxicity among players, highlighting why a Mythic+ solo queue would not be feasible.
With the introduction of the Random Dungeon Finder and Titan Rune dungeons, players have been experiencing an increase in being kicked from groups and receiving the Dungeon Deserter debuff, which prevents them from queuing for dungeons for 30 minutes. This behavior mirrors what we could expect to see in a Mythic+ solo queue scenario.
If Blizzard were to implement a solo queue for Mythic+ dungeons, players would be randomly grouped together. While things may start off well, any mishap or failure during the dungeon run could quickly escalate into arguments, flaming, and kicking each other from the group. The timed nature of Mythic+ dungeons would only add more pressure and potentially worsen the situation.
It’s important to note that a Mythic+ solo queue is currently just a concept being discussed by fans as a solution to long queue times, particularly for DPS players. However, Blizzard should address the balancing and queue times in Mythic+ dungeons, especially since the introduction of Augmentation Evoker, which now occupies a guaranteed slot.
Ultimately, it is crucial for Blizzard to consider alternative ideas and improvements to the Mythic+ dungeon system to ensure a better player experience.
