This unique strategy paid off, and Tundra was expected to regain its position as a top contender after placing third at the Bali Major. However, the team faced setbacks when they had to move Saksa to the inactive roster, forcing Nine to adjust as Topson joined the team.
Nine shared the details of Tundra’s signing of Topson, revealing that he wasn’t their first choice. They initially considered Aui_2000, their coach, as a potential player due to his high value as a player. However, Dota 2 competitive rules limited their options as Aui_2000 had played in TI12 qualifiers and was qualified for TI. Fortunately, Topson expressed interest in playing with Tundra, saving them from having to make their coach play.
With OG’s approval, Topson joined Tundra, bringing his two-time TI-winning experience to the team. This addition meant that Tundra had two mid laners, resulting in Nine sacrificing his position to become a position four player.
