Twitch Streamer Quin69 Refunds Starfield, Calls it an Unfinished Game

superadmin

Popular Twitch streamer Quin69 has joined the growing list of critics who are disappointed with Starfield’s early access experience. After completing the game, he promptly requested a refund and publicly criticized the developers for selling an “unfinished” product.

During a Twitch stream on September 4th, Quin expressed his disbelief at the high ratings Starfield had received. He questioned whether the game’s director, Todd, had paid off reviewers and wondered how it had garnered such praise. Quin even went so far as to compare Starfield unfavorably to Diablo 4, stating that despite its flaws, Blizzard’s action RPG was still better.

To illustrate his dissatisfaction, Quin created a pros and cons list for Starfield. Unfortunately for the game, only the soundtrack and aesthetic made it onto the pros list. The cons list, on the other hand, was extensive. Quin criticized the numerous “game-breaking” bugs that hindered immersion, the uninspiring character design, the subpar melee combat mechanics, the lack of feedback during combat, and the excessively difficult hard mode.

Quin also highlighted the excessive number of loading screens in Starfield, which disrupted the flow of gameplay and made the experience feel disjointed. He humorously referred to the game as a “Loading Screen simulator” and lamented the lack of weight and immersion.

After his rant, Quin expressed his desire to refund Starfield, uninstalling the game and submitting a request while citing all the cons he had identified. He even mimicked the bugged characters in the game, questioning how Bethesda had managed to falsely advertise the game to such an extent.

Later in the stream, Quin celebrated the successful refund, emphasizing that the game had been falsely advertised and was riddled with bugs. Fortunately for him, Steam offers refunds for early access purchases, even if the game has been completed.

While it is expected that games in early access may have some issues, Starfield’s current state goes beyond what is acceptable. It is crucial for Bethesda to address these problems before the official launch on September 6th. The game should not feel like a beta test when it is released to the public.
