Unbeatable Combination: Wong, Black Panther, and Arnim Zola

Derek Morgan

Playing against a powerful combination of on-reveal cards in Marvel Snap can be a nightmare, unless you’re running Cosmo. One particularly annoying combination is Wong, Black Panther, and Arnim Zola, especially when augmented with Nebula, Kitty Pryde, and lucky location reveals. However, one clever Redditor found a way to counter the power boost play of Black Panther with the help of the Dark Dimension location, Shang-Chi, and their own Arnim Zola.

In this impressive play, the Redditor utilized The Hub to obtain a copy of their opponent’s Arnim Zola. Knowing that their opponent would reveal their cards first, they strategically played the cards they were given to perfection. It required a bit of luck, but the creativity of the play cannot be denied.

The combination of Black Panther and Arnim Zola has long been considered unfair, especially since Shuri’s heyday. Doubling the power of an on-reveal card on turn five, and then doubling it again with a relatively simple play, can be profoundly frustrating for opponents. This feeling is amplified for those who prefer creative decks and strategic gameplay, rather than relying on one overpowering combination to win.

Marvel Snap is a game of chance, where players must try to beat the house with their deck’s shuffle pattern while also outsmarting their opponents. Well-balanced and creative decks that require deep strategy are more enjoyable to play. On the other hand, relying on a specific three-card combination that opponents have no way of countering can make the game dull. Following one of Snap’s golden rules, if you encounter a Wong and don’t have a Cosmo or a significant advantage, it might be wise to retreat.
