An Apex Legends player met an unfortunate fate due to an unforeseen encounter with Ash’s tactical ability, resulting in their death. The incident occurred on Oct. 31 and was shared on the Apex Legends subreddit.
In the video replay, it is evident that just before the player jumped onto another platform to join their teammates, an electricity effect appeared on the side of their screen. This effect typically indicates being ensnared by Ash’s tactical ability, which is precisely what happened in this case.
However, the player was already in mid-air when they were snared, causing them to be pulled back towards the ability’s area of effect. Unfortunately, this resulted in them being dragged straight into a pit beneath the platform they had just jumped from, leading to an instant death from the fall.
An observant player pointed out that during the snare, the affected player could have used their ultimate ability to break free. While this suggestion is valid, it is unlikely that many players would have been prepared for such an unexpected interaction.
When faced with unexpected situations like this, players often need time to comprehend what is happening. It seems that this was the case for the unfortunate player in this instance.
