Blizzard has finally revealed the highly anticipated Mythic skin for Hanzo in Overwatch 2 season seven. The Onryō skin, available as the tier 80 reward in the premium battle pass, is sure to haunt players’ dreams.
In a short video shared on Twitter, Blizzard showcased the Onryō Mythic Hanzo skin, which will undoubtedly send shivers down your spine. With color options including a chilling blue, ghostly white, and a fiery orange and red combination, this skin exudes an eerie presence. It even features its own spine-chilling sound effects that perfectly match its ghostly appearance.
But the terror doesn’t end there. Hanzo’s Dragonstrike ultimate ability receives a bone-chilling voice line and animation, transforming the dragon spirits summoned from his bow into skeletal creatures.
The Onryō skin draws inspiration from Japanese folklore, specifically the vengeful and grudge-holding spirits known as Onryō. These malevolent ghosts are said to have the power to harm the living, making this skin a perfect fit for the upcoming Halloween Terror event and the highly anticipated Diablo crossover event in season seven.
Blizzard confirmed that the Onryō Hanzo skin will be unlocked at tier 80, reverting back to the traditional format where players receive all elements of the skin at this milestone. In previous seasons, the developers experimented with allowing players to earn parts of the skin before reaching tier 80, but it seems they have returned to the original system.
