Baldur’s Gate 3 is packed with hidden treasures, and one of the most popular side quests in Act One is brimming with them. The quest to “Save Mayrina” takes players on a fairytale-like journey to wetlands where they must confront the wicked witch Auntie Ethel. After defeating the hag, players discover her lair filled with potions that bear ambiguous names.
A concerned player took to Reddit on Monday to share a comprehensive rundown of each potion and its effects, many of which are far from desirable. The player claimed to have consumed all the Hag Potions in Ethel’s den, aiming to spare others from their adverse consequences.
However, it turns out that this valiant effort has already been well-documented. Dot Esports has even published a guide detailing the effects of these potions. As one of our writers discovered, drinking all the potions won’t necessarily lead to death, nor will consuming them consecutively trigger any special effects.
Regrettably, there is no achievement to be earned by imbibing these potions, making it rather pointless to experiment with them. Considering Ethel the Hag’s penchant for deception, manipulation, and exploiting others, it’s not surprising that she would offer no rewards for such endeavors.
