Valve Confirms No Plans to Remove Custom Configs and Autoexecs in Counter-Strike 2

Xavier Ward

Valve recently addressed rumors that they would be removing the ability for players to create their own autoexec and config files in Counter-Strike 2. Thankfully, a developer from Valve confirmed that there are no plans to take away this important feature.

The ability to customize your own configs and autoexecs is crucial for many CS2 players. It allows them to create personalized binds, such as jumpthrows, which enhance their gameplay experience. This feature has been a part of CS:GO for years, and it would be senseless for Valve to remove it.

Initially, there were rumors circulating that Valve would be removing config and autoexec files soon. However, a member of Valve’s developer team, Ido Magal, responded to a message from pro player Ahmed “gamersdont” Natik, stating that there are no plans to remove this feature in CS2.

While these initial rumors caused concern among the community, players can now rest assured that they will still have the ability to customize their configs and autoexecs in CS2. This news comes as a relief, especially considering the recent backlash over Valve’s decision to tweak movement abilities in the game.
