Gimmighoul: A Rarity Locked Behind a Raid
The shiny Gimmighoul, and its evolved form Gholdengo, are currently impossible to obtain. These Pokémon were only available during a limited-time 5-Star Tera Raid event from June 21 to July 2. Even during the event, capturing a shiny Gimmighoul was not guaranteed. We can hope for future special events that will make them available again.
Three-Segment Form Dudunsparce & Family of Three Maushold: A Numbers Game
Finding shiny variants of Three-Segment Form Dudunsparce and Family of Three Maushold can be a time-consuming task. To obtain a shiny Three-Segment Form Dudunsparce, you need to evolve a shiny Dunsparce, which has a relatively common occurrence in Area Zero. However, the odds of evolving it into the Three-Segment Form are 1 in 100, so be prepared to invest a significant amount of time.
Similarly, obtaining a shiny Family of Three Maushold involves finding a shiny Tandemaus, which is less frequent than Dunsparce. The odds of evolving it into a Family of Three are also 1 in 100. While there is an alternative method through Tera Raid Battles, it is generally faster to pursue the evolution route.
Zygarde: A Challenging Dynamax Adventure
Shiny Zygarde is notorious for being difficult to obtain due to its shiny lock. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, you can find Zygarde through Dynamax Adventures. However, these raids are known to be tough. Even with a Shiny Charm, the odds of encountering a shiny Zygarde are 1 in 100. This means that obtaining a shiny Zygarde can be a grueling and challenging task.
Manaphy: A Time and Money Sink
Shiny Manaphy is not only a time sink but also a money sink. To obtain it, you will need two Nintendo DS systems, two copies of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl or Pokémon Platinum, and any copies of Pokémon Ranger with unclaimed Manaphy Egg rewards.
The process becomes even more arduous as you have to beat the main game in each Pokémon Ranger copy. Once you obtain the Manaphy Egg, you need to trade it to a Generation IV title, hatch it, reset the game, trade the egg to another Generation IV title, and hatch it again. If you still haven’t found a shiny Manaphy, you have to start the games afresh to get a new trainer ID. And don’t forget, you also need to play the game until you can trade.
Obtaining a shiny Manaphy is a nightmare, making it conclusively the hardest shiny Pokémon to obtain.
