Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may have their fair share of bugs, but one unfortunate player encountered a glitch that led them to take out their frustration on a rare Shiny Pokémon they couldn’t catch.
Finding a Shiny Pokémon is always exciting, whether you’re actively searching for one or stumble upon it by chance. However, this player’s attempt to initiate a battle with a wild Shiny Iron Valiant was thwarted by a bizarre bug, as shown in a Reddit thread on Oct. 24.
The player initially tried throwing a Poké Ball at the Shiny Pokémon to start the battle, but it didn’t work. Then, when they attempted to run into the Paradox Pokémon, something unthinkable happened—the player ended up kicking the Shiny in the face.
While unexpected, the battle between the player and the dangerous Paradox Pokémon was both amusing and fitting given the circumstances. Unable to send out a Pokémon to weaken the Shiny, the frustrated player took matters into their own hands and fought the Iron Valiant themselves.
“Xkrak1 used Jump Kick!” one fan cleverly commented, incorporating the original poster’s username and a powerful Fighting-type move into a line straight out of a Pokémon game. “You will run out of PP,” another joked.
Other players found the situation both funny and sympathetic, with one saying, “Omg I laughed so hard at this. Thank you. Sorry for your missed Shiny.”
Fortunately, the player reassured everyone that they eventually managed to catch the Shiny Iron Valiant after this wild roller coaster of emotions. By saving the game beforehand, they were able to reset and still find the Shiny Pokémon on the map.
This is a quick and easy tip that all players should follow to avoid losing their Shinies. Thanks to this strategy, the player now has a Shiny Iron Valiant in their collection and a hilarious clip to share with fellow fans.
While the kicking motion may be unusual, other players have previously reported encountering issues while hunting for Shinies. For instance, Shiny Pokémon were somehow spawning inside walls where they definitely shouldn’t be.
Many Pokémon players have also raised concerns about the accessibility of hard-to-spot Shinies, which is not a bug but an area that could be improved upon in the future.
