Counter-Strike 2 has its fair share of issues, and players are voicing their complaints. To enhance their gaming experience, many are experimenting with different settings. If you’re one of them, here’s a combo that can widen your field of view.
Field of view (FOV) is crucial in FPS games as it determines how much you can see in front of you. A wider FOV allows you to have a better view of the action. One player, junnuqt, discovered a trick to widen the FOV by using the “splitscreen_mode 2” command in the console and enabling super-resolution in the advanced video settings.
junnuqt tested this trick in a Deathmatch game and shared a clip on X. The results were impressive, as players could indeed see more. However, there is a trade-off. With a larger FOV, characters and elements on the map appear smaller, making it more challenging to aim accurately.
Other players in the replies pointed out potential bugs that may occur when using this technique. Screenshots showed instances where the screen became glitchy, displaying a buy menu randomly. Considering this is not the intended way to play CS2, it is not surprising, and Valve is unlikely to address these issues.
Valve is currently occupied with numerous bugs, issues, and cheaters in CS2. The developers have been working diligently to address as many problems as possible. In recent days, Valve has released hotfixes almost daily, making adjustments to features like Premier mode matchmaking.
