Former Magic: The Gathering planeswalkers, Will and Rowan Kenrith, make a comeback in the upcoming Standard-legal set, Wilds of Eldraine. The set features an anime teaser trailer that showcases the epic battle between the siblings.
The trailer, produced by Studio Pierrot Animation, captures the essence of anime with its captivating visuals and thrilling music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and performed by Awich. Fans of both Magic and anime will be left wanting more after watching this action-packed teaser.
Wilds of Eldraine continues to support Japanese anime artists through alternate art variants within the MTG Enchanting Tales bonus sheet. These chase cards feature reprinted MTG cards from older sets, with 20 of them showcasing stunning anime artwork on full art cards. The collector booster packs also offer a special foil treatment called confetti for these chase cards.
The Enchanting Tales cards, both in their normal versions and non-foil anime variants, can be obtained from Draft, set, and collector booster packs. This integration of anime art into Magic sets is not new and has been well-received by the community.
In addition to the visually appealing anime art, Wilds of Eldraine introduces new gameplay mechanics such as Bargain and Roles, which align with the enchantment and fairy tale theme of the plane. It’s worth noting that Will and Rowan have undergone changes since their last appearance, as they lost their Planeswalker Spark following the defeat of the Phyrexians and the Multiverse MTG war.
Players can immerse themselves in the world of Eldraine through prerelease events starting on September 1st or digitally on September 5th.
