Just five incredibly knowledgeable League of Legends esports fans still have a chance at a perfect Pick’em as the 2023 World Championship moves into the knockout stage. These five fans correctly predicted which teams would advance from the Worlds Swiss stage and play-ins, earning bonus points for predicting an undefeated team. Now, they have the opportunity to predict the final seven matches of the tournament. Last year, no one had a perfect Pick’em due to DRX’s surprising victory.
Among the five fans with perfect Pick’ems this year, four have made their predictions for the next round. They mostly agree on the outcomes of the quarterfinals. In the upper half of the bracket, all of them chose Gen.G to defeat Bilibili Gaming, while three of them picked Weibo Gaming over NRG Esports. A similar split can be seen in their picks for the lower half of the bracket, with all of them selecting JDG over KT Rolster, and three out of four choosing T1 over LNG Esports.
Gen.G is the clear favorite, with 94.5 percent of fans expecting them to beat Bilibili. However, at this year’s Mid-Season Invitational, Bilibili surprised everyone by defeating Gen.G 3-0 in the quarterfinals. The matchup between Weibo and NRG has the most varied predictions, with 74 percent favoring Weibo. But NRG has proven themselves throughout the tournament, defying expectations and becoming the West’s last hope after defeating G2 Esports in the Swiss stage.
