The highly anticipated World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore mode has kicked off, and while some players are still struggling to progress, others have already achieved remarkable feats. Just 11 days after the release, the North American guild Frontier managed to clear the entire Molten Core raid and defeat Ragnaros, the final boss.
Frontier’s impressive run began just hours before their victory, showcasing their exceptional skills and strategic composition. The raid primarily consisted of Warriors, Mages, Rogues, and Hunters, with a few Warlocks included for their debuff abilities. However, Paladins and Druids were noticeably absent from their lineup.
Molten Core, the first raid in the original game, features 10 challenging bosses. While most encounters can be overcome with relative ease, players must acquire the Aqual Quintessence to douse seven runes scattered throughout the instance. This action spawns Majordomo Executus, a boss who later summons Ragnaros. To obtain the Aqual Quintessence, players must complete a quest chain starting with Duke Hydraxis and reach at least Honored reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords.
Frontier’s roster included renowned players from the streaming WoW community, such as Jokerd, Crix, and Vitochie. Vitochie, in particular, gained recognition for being the first player to reach level 60 on the official WoW Hardcore servers as a mage.
The guild completed the entire Molten Core raid in approximately three hours, which includes time spent forming groups, traveling, and clearing trash mobs. Their run was flawlessly executed, with minimal setbacks, thanks to their meticulous approach and well-equipped characters.
Next on their agenda is the Blackwing Lair raid, as Frontier continues to push the boundaries of WoW Classic Hardcore mode.
