Players Frustrated with Challenging Gauntlet in Throne of the Tides Dungeon
The latest season of World of Warcraft’s Dragonflight has brought a revamp to the entire Mythic+ dungeon pool. However, some players are finding certain sections, such as the gauntlet in the Throne of the Tides dungeon, dated and frustrating. This gauntlet, just before the final boss, features endless waves of corrupted water elementals that pose a significant challenge.
In this gauntlet, players must contend with Gilgoblin mobs that require stunning and interrupting, as well as Tainted Sentries that continuously deal AoE damage with their ability “Swell.” This ability becomes a major healing and survivability check, especially during Fortified weeks, as it inflicts massive damage to the entire group. Many players have reported at least one teammate dying in this section of the dungeon.
To overcome this challenging gauntlet, players should focus solely on single-target damage dealt to the Tainted Sentries. Using AoE abilities on the Unstable Corruption enemies near the sentries will actually increase the damage dealt by Swell. By concentrating on single-target damage, players can make life easier for their healer and mitigate the impact of Swell.
Next week, the Mythic+ affixes will change to Tyrannical, which should make dealing with the Tainted Sentries slightly easier.
