One WoW player may have uncovered a hidden secret regarding the empty space near the Dragon Isles. By overlaying the upcoming Emerald Dream zone, they discovered a perfect fit with the outline of the empty area. This suggests that the new zone might be introduced in a future patch, possibly in the 10.2 cycle.
The geography of the Dragon Isles and the borders of the Emerald Dream align perfectly, indicating that the next zone will fit precisely within the designated space on the live Dragonflight servers. The gray borders around continents in WoW represent the limits of player exploration before experiencing fatigue, rather than the actual borders of the continent. With so much empty space on the west coast of the Dragon Isles, it is plausible that something significant will be added there in the future.
It is highly likely that Amirdrassil, the new World Tree, will emerge from the Emerald Dream and become part of the main Azeroth in the future. However, it remains uncertain whether the rest of the landmass within the Emerald Dream will accompany it.
A dissenting player argues that the Emerald Dream is a mirrored version of Azeroth in an alternate dimension, explaining the similar layouts of the two continents. Nevertheless, this does not clarify why the developers left space for it in the first place.
One possible explanation is that the landmass was removed from the main timeline but continues to exist in its original form within the Emerald Dream. The conclusion of Dragonflight will likely reveal whether the open space west of the Ancient Bough in the Ohn’ahran Plains will be utilized for the new World Tree.
