North American esports organization XSET is actively searching for a new CS:GO roster, despite ongoing claims of unpaid wages within its VALORANT division. Several players and a coach from XSET filed lawsuits against the organization last month, alleging that they were not paid their share of the revenue from the Champions 2022 VALORANT skin bundle. Despite these unresolved issues, XSET has announced its plans to return to CS:GO with a female playing roster.
XSET previously had a female CS:GO team from 2020 to late 2021, which achieved some notable results. The team, featuring players like Julia “juliano” Kiran and Michaela “mimi” Lintrup, secured a first-place victory at Dreamhack Showdown Winter 2020 Europe. However, the team disbanded shortly after due to various challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on travel restrictions.
Now, XSET is inviting all women-identifying players to try out for their new CS:GO team. Interested individuals can register for tryouts by following XSET on social media and replying to their announcement tweet. Despite the ongoing payment disputes, XSET remains determined to forge ahead in the CS:GO scene.
