Zenyatta Bug in Overwatch 2 Reveals Invisible Sombra

Xavier Ward

Players of Overwatch 2 have stumbled upon a peculiar bug that allows Zenyatta to see Sombra even when she turns invisible, making the floating omnic support an unexpected counter against the damage hero.

A player shared their discovery of this new bug on Oct. 31, capturing the moment they spotted the “invisible” Sombra during a match. The bug seemed to occur after a Discord Orb was detached.

Zenyatta’s Discord Orb has a seven-second cooldown before it can be attached to another opponent. This cooldown is indicated by an icon on the opponent’s model, showing how much time is left before another Discord Orb can be thrown at them.

Interestingly, this cooldown icon remains visible even after Sombra has gone invisible, severely hindering her stealth abilities, which are integral to her playstyle.

While this bug may pose a disadvantage for Sombra players, many fans expressed their desire to keep this interaction as it could make Sombra less frustrating to deal with. However, given the chaotic nature of team fights in Overwatch 2, it would require exceptional awareness for Zenyatta to track a flanking Sombra. It is not impossible, but certainly challenging.

Some players jokingly speculated that Zenyatta or Sombra might be temporarily removed from the game, similar to other heroes who had encountered bugs. However, it is likely that Blizzard considers this bug too minor to warrant immediate action. It is also possible that the developers are unaware of this issue between the two heroes.

Dot Esports has reached out to Blizzard for further details regarding this bug.
