In a video message to fans, Solo, the captain of 9Pandas, has addressed the rumors surrounding the team’s disbandment after their disappointing performance at The International 2023. Solo reassured fans that the team is doing fine and is currently taking a break after the tournament. He also mentioned that they are yet to discuss their future plans for the roster, but promised to share the news with the fans first.
Putting an end to the speculation, Solo revealed that the upcoming 2024 Dota 2 season will be his “last dance.” However, he remains uncertain about whether he will continue as a player or transition into a coaching role within the team. If Solo decides to become a coach, 9Pandas will need to find a new position five player.
Despite their inconsistent performance last year, with a top-six placement at Riyadh Masters 2023 and attending all the Majors, 9Pandas faced difficulties at TI 2023. Starting in the upper bracket, they were eliminated early in the main event, facing tough opponents such as LGD and Gaimin Gladiators, both of whom finished in the top four.
With the removal of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC), teams are now racing against time to finalize their rosters before the regional qualifiers for upcoming events. ESL has already scheduled a LAN event in December, adding urgency to the team’s search for new players.
