Apex Legends Developers Rank Weapons Based on Personal Preferences

superadmin

Apex Legends developers stir up controversy by sharing their personal rankings of the game’s weapons. Lead battle royale designer Josh Mohan and lead weapon and loot designer Eric Canavese discuss their favorite and least favorite weapons based on their own playstyles.

The developers acknowledge that their rankings are subjective and may differ from player-made tier lists. Mohan favors the Longbow due to his preference for sniping, while Canavese places the Wingman in the S-tier because he finds it stylish and awesome.

Surprisingly, the G7 Scout, a popular marksman weapon among players, is ranked in the D-tier by both developers. The Volt SMG, known for its controversy and multiple nerfs, is placed in the B-tier by Canavese.

Shotguns, including the highly regarded Peacekeeper, do not rank higher than the B-tier according to the developers. This aligns with their preference for longer-range weapons.

The Flatline receives unanimous praise from both developers and is considered an S-tier weapon. Its power and nostalgic resemblance to the Assault Rifle from Halo make it a favorite among players.

The full-tier list provided by the developers is as follows:

S Tier Wingman Flatline R-99 30-30 Repeater
A Tier Longbow DMR Tripe-Take R-301 Hemlock
B Tier C.A.R SMG Peacekeeper Sentinel Volt SMG Prowler SMG
C Tier Rampage Havoc Mastiff
D Tier G7 Scout Mozambique
E Tier Spitfire Alternator

Despite their lighthearted discussion, the developers anticipate criticism from the player base. However, directing frustration towards the developers’ personal preferences is not productive. It is important to remember that love and hate are closely related, and passion for a game can lead to both positive and negative emotions.
