The highly anticipated Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) is set to make a comeback for its fourth year, promising another thrilling season of online and LAN events. The official Championship broadcast confirmed the return of ALGS, with the start date scheduled for September 10, 2023. More details regarding the upcoming season will be announced soon on the official PlayApexEsports account.
Traditionally, the Split One Pro League has commenced in mid-October, with the 2022 season kicking off in North America on October 16. While fans eagerly await the start of each League, they can still expect ALGS content leading up to the event.
If the format remains unchanged, the competition will feature 30 teams in each of the five major Pro Leagues, with 22 teams directly invited by EA based on their past results or merit. Prior to the start of each season, the Preseason Qualifiers will take place, consisting of four tournaments that determine the additional eight teams joining the Pro League. The winners of each tournament secure a direct qualification, while the remaining four slots are decided based on the teams’ cumulative point total at the end of all the Preseason tournaments.
The ALGS season typically consists of two Splits, with an international Playoffs tournament for each Split and the Championship as the grand finale. Throughout the season, teams accumulate circuit points to qualify for the final event of the year. The international events feature a total of 40 teams, with the number of teams from each region determined by previous LAN results.
The confirmation of ALGS Year Four also ensures the return of the Challenger Circuit for all regions. This open-registration weekend tournament allows teams to qualify for the Pro League Qualifier of Split Two, along with the Last Chance Qualifier leading up to the Championship.
