Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, Codename Red, has left fans eagerly anticipating more details since its teaser at Ubisoft’s Forward press conference in 2022. While the only confirmed information was that the game would be set in feudal Japan, a recent update to the LinkedIn profile of Pierre Boudreau, the lead writer of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, has potentially revealed the new protagonist.
Boudreau’s LinkedIn profile now features a banner image showcasing what appears to be the face of the next Assassin’s Creed protagonist. The artwork provides more detail than the teaser, revealing the outline of a female character. If this image is accurate, it suggests that Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red will feature a female main character.
In recent titles like Odyssey and Valhalla, players were able to choose their character’s gender. However, this feature was removed in the latest installment, Mirage, in favor of a more focused protagonist. The decision paid off, as Mirage’s sales have surpassed those of Valhalla. Now, fans are hopeful that a new female protagonist will be a welcome addition to the Assassin’s Creed series, providing female players with a strong role model.
While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed anything yet, the fact that the image remains on Boudreau’s LinkedIn profile gives fans reason to be optimistic about the future of the franchise. The Assassin’s Creed community eagerly awaits further updates and the official unveiling of the potential new protagonist.
