Balkan team, Bad News Eagles, has found a new organization to play for in the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 season. They have signed with Guild Esports, marking Guild’s expansion into CS2 esports. The team will now be known as the Guild Eagles.
Despite not consistently making it to the playoffs of major tournaments, Bad News Eagles has gained recognition within the CS2 community. They have performed exceptionally well in the Majors, reaching the Legends Stage in all three previous Valve-sponsored events, including a victory over FaZe Clan at IEM Rio CS:GO Major 2022.
While many top teams are undergoing roster changes, Guild Eagles plans to stick with their current lineup, led by coach Devilwalk, a former Major winner. They aim to start the new era of Counter-Strike with the same roster.
The first CS2 Major is scheduled to take place in Copenhagen in March 2024, and Guild Eagles are expected to secure their spot based on their past performances. However, they have yet to make it to the finals of any CS2 tournament, only reaching the quarterfinals in online events like CCT East Europe Series 3.
With the support of Guild, the Balkan team has the potential to improve their performance. They have proven themselves as a formidable force in the past and are likely to continue making an impact in the CS2 scene.
