He personally enjoys playing this genre of games, and he believes that many others in the industry share the same sentiment. However, instant success is not guaranteed for any game resembling Baldur’s Gate 3. Although Act One of the game was available for early access in 2020, it was not until its official launch on August 3 that it became one of the most acclaimed games of 2023.
The game’s incredible storyline, meticulous attention to detail, exceptional voice acting, and enthralling tabletop-style RPG elements contributed to its immense success. As a result, Baldur’s Gate 3 won several prestigious awards at the 2023 Golden Joystick Awards, including Ultimate Game of the Year, Best Storytelling, Visual Design, Game Community, PC Game of the Year, Studio of the Year, and Best Supporting Performer for Neil Newborn, the voice actor behind the beloved character Astarion.
