Lamine Yamal is part of this new Barcelona core, but unfortunately, fans of EA FC 24 won’t be able to play with the talented teenager. Why?
Barcelona is known for giving opportunities to young players from their academy, La Masia. The quality of recruitment at La Masia has produced exceptional talents like captain Sergi Roberto and midfield prodigy Gavi. However, the youngest and brightest product of this system, Lamine Yamal, is missing from EA FC 24.
So, why isn’t Lamine Yamal featured in the game? It’s not a conspiracy; it’s simply because he’s too young. Despite already being a senior Spanish international, Yamal is only 16 years old, which doesn’t meet EA’s requirement for players to be at least 17 years old in their games.
Unfortunately, this means that Barcelona fans and Lamine Yamal himself will have to wait for his inclusion in EA FC 24. Yamal was born on July 13, 2007, which means he won’t turn 17 until after the soccer season is over and EA FC 24’s relevance is starting to fade as attention shifts to its successor.
To provide some context, EA FC 24 pre-orders were opened on July 13, 2022, when Lamine Yamal hadn’t even celebrated his 16th birthday yet.
Will Lamine Yamal be added to EA FC 24 eventually? While we can’t completely rule it out, considering how late in the year and close to the next EA FC launch his 17th birthday falls, it’s more likely that Lamine Yamal will make his first appearance in the series in EA FC 25.
It’s worth noting that Lamine Yamal isn’t the only omission from EA FC 24. The Mexican Liga MX is also absent, disappointing fans of the league. However, the reasons for its exclusion go beyond EA’s age restriction for players.
