Riot Games is shaking up the jungle meta in League of Legends with major changes to Smite, pets, and Dragons ahead of the 2024 preseason. These updates are currently being tested on the PBE servers and will eventually make their way to the main game.
Changes to Smite and Jungle Pets
Smite, the essential jungle summoner spell, will no longer be usable on lane minions or pets. Additionally, its damage to champions has been significantly reduced in the later stages of the game. The starting jungle pets have also undergone various adjustments.
Jungle Pet | Changes |
---|---|
Mosstomper Seedling | No longer grants Tenacity or slow resistance after the shield breaks |
Gustwalker Hatchling | Brush speed bonus decreased from 45% to 30% |
Scorchclaw Pup | Damage bonus and movement slow at tier three now only apply after a direct auto attack or ability damage |
Dragon Changes
The Dragons in League of Legends are also receiving some adjustments. Infernal Drake will have its ability power and attack damage reduced, while Ocean Drake’s health regeneration will be slower. Cloud Drake will move at a slower pace, and Mountain Drake’s bonus resistance will be lower. These changes make the Drakes easier to kill but increase the importance of securing them for their Soul bonuses.
Dragon | Changes |
---|---|
Infernal Drake | Ability power and attack damage reduced |
Ocean Drake | Health regeneration reduced |
Cloud Drake | Slower movement speed |
Mountain Drake | Lower bonus resistances |
These changes are currently being tested on the PBE servers and will be implemented in the main game at a later date. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 preseason changes in League of Legends.
