Brazilian CS:GO Veteran TACO Announces Return to Professional Play

Tim Price

After a break from competitive gaming, Brazilian Counter-Strike player TACO has revealed his plans to make a comeback in the professional scene. The two-time CS:GO Major winner took to Twitter on September 26 to announce his readiness to compete once again. TACO was instrumental in establishing Brazilian dominance in 2016 with the Luminosity and SK lineups, and now he aims to do it all over again. While he has not disclosed which team he will join, his experience and skill make him a valuable asset for any roster, especially considering the struggles of the South American region in recent rankings.

TACO previously played for 00NATION before the organization’s transition to Europe. However, he was benched by the CS:GO org in March and remained on the sidelines for seven months before being released. With a rich history in CS:GO spanning eight years, TACO has been part of top-tier rosters such as Luminosity, SK Gaming, and Team Liquid.

The highly anticipated Source 2 overhaul, which Valve has been hinting at, may coincide with TACO’s return. Many expect the update to launch on September 27, following hints from Valve’s Twitter background change. TACO is not the only pro player making a comeback; others like f0rest and Xyp9x have also expressed their intentions to climb back into the top tiers of professional Counter-Strike.
