League of Legends players can now unlock the highly sought-after Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin skin without having to spend a fortune. A bug has been discovered that allows players to obtain this Mythic Variant skin using regular Hextech Chests and keys. This bug was revealed by popular streamer and content creator, I Keep It Taco.
Previously, it was believed that Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin could only be obtained by opening Cosmic 2023 Capsules. However, I Keep It Taco’s discovery proves otherwise. The bug allows players to bypass the expensive capsule system and potentially acquire the skin through Hextech Chests.
It is important to note that the drop rate for Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin is extremely low, with a mere 0.0003 percent chance of obtaining it. I Keep It Taco himself opened over 600 chests and 50 orbs without any success. Despite the odds, players who have been saving their Hextech Chests and keys for a long time now have a chance to take advantage of this bug.
When asked about the bug, I Keep It Taco explained that Riot Games likely made a mistake in the coding, resulting in Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin being unintentionally available through Hextech Chests. The skin does not appear in the official loot pool, but multiple cases have been reported of players obtaining it through chests.
If you decide to try your luck with Hextech Chests, it is recommended to open as many as you have saved up. However, the chances of obtaining the skin through rerolls are close to zero. Stick to opening Hextech Chests individually for a higher chance of success.
For players who prefer not to exploit bugs, the Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin skin can still be obtained through the limited-time-only Cosmic 2023 Capsules. However, time is running out as the event will conclude with the release of Patch 13.19 on September 27.
