Cloud9 and Complexity emerged as the dominant teams in the online BLAST Fall Showdown, securing their spots in the upcoming BLAST Fall Finals. Cloud9 showcased their revamped roster, while Complexity displayed their strength against tough opponents.
Cloud9, once considered a struggling team, made a remarkable comeback in the tournament. With their retooled lineup, they only dropped one map to G2 and swept all other opponents. The addition of H0bbit as an important player allowed electroNic to shine, resulting in impressive performances from both players. Cloud9’s success was also fueled by sh1ro’s exceptional performance, leading the team with a stellar HLTV rating of 1.30.
Meanwhile, Complexity underwent recent changes that proved to be beneficial. They secured a tight 2-0 victory against Evil Geniuses, winning by a narrow margin of four rounds. In their match against FURIA, Complexity faced some challenges but managed to come out on top with a 2-1 victory. Although FURIA won more rounds overall, Complexity won the series.
In the final, Complexity faced Team Liquid, marking EliGE’s first encounter with his former team after eight years with them. Complexity showcased their dominance by defeating a struggling Liquid 16-4 on Overpass and 16-2 on Inferno.
Both Cloud9 and Complexity secured their spots in the BLAST Fall Finals, which will serve as a crucial preparation for the upcoming CS2 Major in 2023. They will join Team Vitality, Heroic, NAVI, FaZe Clan, Astralis, and Ninjas in Pyjamas in the highly anticipated tournament.
