The search term “CS2 hacks” has seen a significant increase on Google recently, following the expansion of the CS2 beta to more players last week. Valve granted access to thousands of new players after the Aug. 31 update, which introduced the new Inferno map and global/regional leaderboards. Unfortunately, it seems that some players are already looking for ways to cheat in CS2.
Dot Esports discovered several websites offering both free and paid hacks for CS2, including popular cheats like aimbots, wallhacks, and radar hacks. Some cheat developers even claim that their products are undetectable.
CS:GO has long struggled with cheaters throughout its 11-year history. Many players have abandoned official matchmaking in favor of third-party services like FACEIT, ESEA, and Gamers Club, which have more effective anti-cheating software than Valve. With the announcement of CS2 in March, players are hopeful that Valve will implement a better anti-cheating system for the game.
While it remains uncertain if Valve can effectively combat cheaters in CS2, they have introduced a new feature called VAC Live. This feature can ban cheaters within seconds of receiving reports, even during an ongoing match, and can cancel matches if a cheater is detected to save players’ time.
However, at least one cheater has managed to evade VAC Live, indicating that the tool is not yet perfect and may require adjustments in the future. Valve still has time to address these issues before the global release of CS2 this summer.
