Dendi Joins Kick as Title Sponsor for B8 Esports

Xavier Ward

Dota 2 legend, Dendi, has signed a deal with Kick, making the streaming site the title sponsor of his organization, B8 Esports. This partnership comes as a much-needed boost for Dendi, who has struggled to keep his org afloat amidst Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine. Despite the challenges, B8 managed to compete in the North American region and narrowly missed out on an invite to The International 2023.

With the absence of the Dota Pro Circuit this year, Dendi has secured Kick as B8’s sponsor across all games they compete in. Additionally, he will be streaming on Kick, offering an alternative to Twitch. While it is unclear if there will be exclusivity, Dendi’s move to Kick could mean more frequent streams on the platform.

The decision to join Kick is not exclusive to Dendi, as fellow Dota star, Arteezy, also made the switch on November 8. However, Arteezy’s move did not come with any additional sponsorship. This unexpected transition left Dota fans divided on whether they would follow Arteezy’s broadcasts on another platform, resulting in a significant drop in viewership.

Dendi currently averages around 2,500 viewers on Twitch, despite having over one million followers. If a similar decline occurs on Kick, he may see fewer than 500 viewers for his initial streams on the new platform. Nevertheless, Dendi remains optimistic about the partnership with Kick and is grateful for their support during B8’s challenging journey.

To learn more about Dendi’s Kick sponsorship and B8’s plans for recovery after their early elimination at the ESL One Kuala Lumpur qualifiers, tune in to his upcoming streams.
