Diablo 4 Boss Apologizes for Troubled Season One Launch

superadmin

Diablo 4 boss Rod Ferguson has issued an apology for the game’s problematic season one launch, which received heavy criticism for numerous class nerfs. The Season of the Malignant was met with a negative response from the community, primarily due to the nerfs and lack of content. However, Ferguson promises improvements for season two, set to release in October.

Season Release Date Theme New Character
Season One July Nerfs and Lack of Content N/A
Season Two October Vampires Gemma Chan

Ferguson acknowledges that the team made mistakes in managing expectations and rushing the release of season one. He stands by the controversial changes made, aiming to create a fair playing field. However, the developers failed to fully explain their intentions. For season two, Blizzard plans to provide patch notes earlier, host live streams, and gather feedback through surveys and telemetry to better understand player desires.

Diablo 4 now faces the challenge of winning back players who may have been drawn to other new game releases, such as Starfield, Baldur’s Gate 3 on PlayStation, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage, before season two begins on October 17.
