Dignitas Parts Ways with Jensen After Disappointing Season

Xavier Ward

Dignitas has decided to end their partnership with Danish League of Legends mid laner Jensen, following a less than satisfactory year with the team. Despite high expectations when Jensen joined Dignitas in 2022, the organization’s performance in the LCS and their failure to qualify for the League World Championship led to this decision.

Throughout the 2023 competitive season, Dignitas struggled, finishing tenth in LCS Spring, seventh in LCS Summer, and only managing a fifth-sixth place finish in the LCS Championship. As a result, the organization is now looking to make changes for the upcoming 2024 season, starting with the mid lane position.

While Dignitas has not officially confirmed Jensen’s departure, there are indications that he has left the team. Jensen has removed all references to the organization from his social media profiles, suggesting that he is no longer associated with Dignitas. If this is indeed the case, it would mean an early end to the contract he signed through the end of the 2024 season.

Jensen is not the first member of the 2023 Dignitas roster to leave the team, as Lucas ‘Santorin’ Larsen retired earlier this month to focus on personal matters and content creation. The question now remains where Jensen will go next in the League of Legends scene.

It is unlikely that Jensen will retire from professional play, and if he cannot secure a spot on another North American roster for the upcoming season, he may consider transitioning into content creation. However, with the ongoing 2023 League World Championship in South Korea, most LCS teams are expected to wait until the conclusion of the tournament before making any free-agency moves.

Season Placement
LCS 2023 Spring Tenth
LCS 2023 Summer Seventh
LCS 2023 Championship Fifth-Sixth
