Players of Genshin Impact have been receiving daily rewards to celebrate the game’s third anniversary, but these rewards have been a major letdown. This has become a recurring disappointment for players, who have come to expect underwhelming rewards from the game.
Genshin Impact was first released on Sept. 28, 2020, and since then, the game has celebrated its anniversary with a week-long event. As part of this event, players receive daily login rewards and inbox rewards.
The community always appreciates free rewards, especially considering the game’s challenging gacha and pity system. However, the anniversary rewards have consistently fallen short of players’ expectations.
Upon seeing the rewards for the third anniversary, players were not surprised. Disappointment has become the norm, and players have learned not to set their expectations too high.
During the first four days of the anniversary, players received 400 Primogems each day, along with additional special rewards. These rewards included the Itty Bitty Octobaby companion, four Fragile Resin, and a Portable Aerodynamic Gelatinous Bubble Generator.
There is also an ongoing daily login event called “Bathing in Flowing Moonlight,” which rewards players with Intertwined Fate, Mora, Mystic Enhancement Ore, and Hero’s Wit. However, these rewards are only beneficial to players who choose to spend money.
Players expressed their disappointment with this year’s rewards, suggesting that they should have received more Primogems, perhaps enough for 30 pulls in honor of the third anniversary. Instead, the rewards remained mostly the same, with the addition of two fun but useless gadgets.
While players have grown accustomed to being let down by the anniversary rewards, they are cautiously optimistic about the rewards in miHoYo’s other game, Honkai: Star Rail. This game has consistently provided generous rewards, including a highly desired reward that Genshin players have been hoping for.
In Honkai: Star Rail, players can choose a free standard five-star character after reaching 300 pulls, which is not possible in Genshin Impact. Players have suggested this idea for Genshin’s anniversary rewards, but it has yet to be implemented.
Each year, players hope for better rewards, but so far, each anniversary has only brought further disappointment. While there is always hope for the future, players have lost faith in the possibility of receiving better rewards.
