The latest Marvel Snap balance update, released today, brings several card adjustments for both old and new cards. The highlight of this week’s patch is the return of Doctor Doom to his original power level.
Doctor Doom was initially introduced as a card that creates a DoomBot unit for each other location. This ability made him one of the most popular and consistent cards in the game, allowing players to swarm locations with powerful five-Power DoomBots.
In June, Second Dinner, the game’s developer, nerfed Doctor Doom by reducing the Power of the DoomBots to four. However, in light of recent changes in the metagame, including the rise of Move decks and the dominance of characters like Spider-Ham and Professor X, Second Dinner has decided to revert Doctor Doom back to his former glory.
The August 31st OTA balance update also includes a buff for Lady Deathstrike, who was introduced to the game just last month. Her Power has been increased from three to four, encouraging more players to include her in their decks.
On the other hand, Captain Marvel, Legion, and Rockslide have all received nerfs in this update. Both Captain Marvel and Legion had their Power reduced by one, as they were key cards in the rising Move meta deck. Rockslide’s stat line has been tweaked, making him a three-cost, three-Power card that still adds two rocks to the opponent’s deck.
Here are the details of the card adjustments in the August 31st balance update:
Card | Old Power | New Power |
---|---|---|
Doctor Doom | 6/5 | 6/5 |
Captain Marvel | 4/5 | 4/4 |
Legion | 5/8 | 5/7 |
Rockslide | 4/5 | 3/3 |
Lady Deathstrike | 5/3 | 5/4 |
These adjustments aim to bring balance to the game and ensure a competitive environment for all players. With Doctor Doom’s return to his former power level, decks like the Cerebro Five strategy can once again be a formidable offensive force. Lady Deathstrike’s buff also solidifies her position in the game, making her a more attractive choice for players.
Stay tuned for more updates and balance adjustments in Marvel Snap as the metagame continues to evolve.
